Jo’s Bar At The Setai

Jo’s Bar At The Setai

The renovation of the Setai Lobby Bar was conceived as a refined evolution of an already iconic space, honoring its legacy while introducing greater warmth, depth, and contemporary sophistication. The design prioritizes atmosphere over a singular stylistic expression, resulting in a timeless composition rooted in craftsmanship, material richness, and restraint.

At the center of the space is a sculptural back bar composed of custom resin blocks with layered textures and embedded gold leaf, designed to appear as floating elements. Light interacts dynamically across the surface throughout the day and evening, transforming the bar into both a functional centerpiece and an artistic installation. Brushed brass framed glass shelving and integrated lighting maintain visual lightness while elevating the presentation of the bar.

Materiality defines the experience throughout. Richly veined Rosso Levanto stone anchors the bar, softened by a custom bamboo inspired relief that introduces texture and rhythm. Concealed storage wrapped in antique mirror enhances depth and reflectivity, while a custom wine tower and subtle architectural arch establish intimacy within the larger lobby. The result is a destination that feels enduring, immersive, and unmistakably refined.
