Saladino Design collaborated with Royal Caribbean to design three signature destinations aboard the Icon of the Seas, each embodying the studio’s dedication to craftsmanship, atmosphere, and narrative design. Together, these spaces, The Pearl Café, Giovanni’s, and The Main Bar reflect a cohesive vision of modern maritime luxury, where form and function merge seamlessly with the spirit of the sea.

The Pearl Café — Icon of the Seas

Located at the heart of the ship, The Pearl Café captures the essence of contemporary oceanfront luxury through an atmosphere that feels both refined and effortless. Embracing the ship’s architectural curves, Saladino Design Studios used organic forms and soft lighting to evoke a sense of calm and connection to the sea. Light woods, polished surfaces, and subtle metallic accents mirror the surrounding seascape, while the flowing layout invites ease and movement. The result is a serene retreat that celebrates modern elegance within a nautical setting.

Giovanni’s — Icon of the Seas

Giovanni’s offers an inviting blend of Italian warmth and modern sophistication, reimagined by Saladino Design Studios to elevate the traditional dining experience at sea. A rich palette of natural stone, warm woods, and ambient lighting creates intimacy and timeless charm. From sculptural wine displays to an open kitchen that invites guests into the heart of the experience, every element enhances the culinary narrative, capturing the essence of Italy with a contemporary maritime twist.

The Main Bar — Icon of the Seas

Serving as a central gathering point aboard the Icon of the Seas, The Main Bar embodies balance between design and experience. Saladino Design Studios envisioned a space defined by fluid geometry, layered textures, and dynamic lighting that reflect the ocean’s movement and energy. The sculptural bar anchors the room, while a refined mix of brass, stone, and rich upholstery adds depth and sophistication. Shifting from bright and welcoming by day to moody and vibrant by night, it captures the spirit of connection and celebration that defines life at sea.
